To stop friend suggestions on Facebook, head to the settings by clicking the down arrow in the top right corner, choose 'Settings & Privacy' > 'Settings' > 'Notifications', and under 'People You May Know', switch off 'Allow Notifications on Facebook'. An easy peasy switcheroo!
