How can I tell if my MTG cards are fake?
TrainingLace路7 months agoHonestly, if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Always buy from reputable sources.

Just weigh them! Real MTG cards have a very specific weight. Counterfeits often are either too heavy or too light. If you've got a precise scale, this can be a quick way to spot fakes.
First off, check the card's print quality. Real MTG cards have high-quality prints, so if your card's artwork looks blurry or pixelated, that's a red flag. Another tip is the light test: Hold the card up to a bright light. If you can't see any light coming through, chances are it's a fake because real MTG cards have a bit of transparency. Also, don't forget about the feel of the card. Real cards have a specific texture and thickness, so if your card feels too flimsy or too thick, it might be a counterfeit.
I bought a bunch of cards that turned out fake because they didn't pass the bend test. Gently bending the card (without creasing it!) should show resilience in an authentic MTG card. Fakes often crack or crease easily. Learned this the hard way.
