Actually, having a 238-card deck is more about personal strategy or fun than being competitive. Most competitive decks stick to the 60-card minimum to maximize the chance of drawing their best cards. But hey, if you want to see the look on your opponent's face when you plop down a massive deck, by all means, go for it!

Easy, they just love to break the rules! Just kidding, but really, in casual play, anything goes as long as your playgroup agrees. For official tournament formats, though, decks have a minimum, not a maximum card count. Commander decks are exactly 100 cards, but something like a Battle of Wits deck in other formats? Yeah, you're gonna need upwards of 200 cards to win with that strategy.

238 cards? Sounds like a deck that's trying too hard or not trying at all. Keep it simple, stick to 60.

Had a friend who played a 250-card deck. Took forever to shuffle, but the sheer unpredictability made every game a blast. Don't knock it till you try it!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
