You can tell if a Pokemon card is 1st edition by looking for a specific symbol on the card. This symbol is usually found directly below the bottom left corner of the Pokemon illustration, and it looks like a little '1' inside a circle. If you see this symbol, you've got yourself a 1st edition Pokemon card! Another tell is the text on the left side of the card will have 'Edition 1' printed on it in some cases, so keep an eye out for that as well.

Just look for the stamp! If it's got the '1' in a circle under the pic, it's 1st edition. No stamp, no first edition. Easy.

Honestly, it's not always about the stamp. Some cards are misprints and don't have the symbol but are still 1st ed. It's rare but happens. Always check the card number and compare with known 1st editions for that set.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
