How can you tell fake MTG cards?

Oh, the age-old dilemma of distinguishing the real MTG deal from the fakes! First up, the light test: real cards have a specific blue layer in the middle, so when you shine a light through them, you should see a uniform glow. No glow or uneven light? Suspect! Then, there's the water test - real cards are surprisingly water-resistant. A drop on a fake often smudges the ink. Lastly, get a jeweler's loupe and dive into the print details. Real cards have super crisp text, even under magnification, while fakes can be blurry or pixelated.

Texture's the giveaway. Real MTG cards have a distinct, slightly rough feel. Fakes? Often too smooth or off.

Just weigh them, lol. Real MTG cards have a pretty consistent weight. Fakes often weigh less.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
