If you can't tag them in posts or see their comments anymore, you're probably blocked. Also, try checking from a friend's account if their profile is still there.
If you can't see their profile, it's not 100% clear you're blocked. They might've deactivated their account.
When I got blocked, I couldn't search their name, see any posts, or send them messages. It was like they vanished from my Facebook universe!
