How can you tell what edition a Pokemon card is?

Most of the time, checking the lower part of the card does the trick. Symbols or text there can tell you if it's a Base Set, Jungle, Fossil, or something newer. And hey, if there's a little "1" with a circle around it, congrats, you've got a 1st Edition!

Just google the card, honestly. I tried memorizing symbols and stuff but ended up spending more time searching anyway. Easier than playing detective with every card.

Pro tip: The absence of a symbol on the base set cards means you got yourself one from the original run. No symbol? Consider it a treasure from the good ol' days.

Lol, just flip the card over and squint a bit. But really, you can tell the edition of a Pokemon card by looking at the tiny symbols, usually found at the bottom of the card, to the right. Each symbol or lack thereof tells you the set it belongs to and sometimes the print run (like 1st Edition or not). First Edition cards, for example, have a specific "Edition 1" symbol. No sweat once you know where to look!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
