Honestly, we're still quite far from full-dive VR like in Sword Art Online. Current VR tech is still mostly limited to visual and auditory experiences without the full immersion.
As someone who's been following VR tech closely, we are making progress, but creating a system as sophisticated as the NerveGear is still science fiction. Stay tuned, though – who knows what the future holds?
We are decades away from achieving something like Sword Art Online. Making VR that immersive and life-like would require a huge leap in technology.
