How come MTG token cards aren't listed?
AutocancellingWeek·7 months agoToken cards in MTG aren't usually listed because they're not considered part of the official card database. They're used as markers to represent creatures or other items created during gameplay, not as actual collectible cards in decks or for trade. They have no mana cost, and you can't play them directly from your hand, so they're treated differently from regular cards.

Actually, token cards are kind of like the side salad of the MTG universe. They're there, and they serve a purpose, but no one is going to a restaurant just for the salad, right? Tokens are made to be played on the field thanks to other cards' abilities, not collected or traded like the main dishes (the actual cards).
Tokens are temporary and often easily replaceable. You can use anything as a token – a coin, a piece of paper, or even a candy. No need for them to be in any listings!
Why bother? Tokens are a dime a dozen and can be represented by anything. They're not the main attraction of MTG.
