Actually, Boruto didn't get the Byakugan! He has the Jougan (or Jogan), which is a unique dojutsu that hasn't been fully explained yet. But it's definitely not the Byakugan.

Boruto didn't get the Byakugan. Instead, he has the Jougan, which has some similar abilities, but it's a completely different eye power.
