MTG EDH, also known as Commander, started as a fun format among judges at MTG events. They wanted a way to play Magic that was different and could accommodate multiple players during their downtime. The idea was to use a larger deck, a single copy of each card (excluding basic lands), and have a legendary creature as the 'commander'. This format allowed for longer, more strategic, and social games. It quickly caught on due to its unique play style and the ability to express creativity through deck building.

EDH started because some judges wanted to flex their vast Magic card collections and have a blast during breaks. Big decks, big plays, and big fun!

Honestly, EDH was just a bunch of judges being nerds and making up a game to kill time. Turned out to be one of the best things to happen to MTG.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
