Nintendo acquired the rights to Tetris for their platforms after a licensing dispute in the late 80s. They struck a deal with Elorg, the Soviet organization that owned the rights at the time.

They wrestled the rights away from some intense competition, got it straight from Mother Russia!

Long story short, they got it through a complex series of negotiations and deals with Soviet officials and multiple companies. It was a whole soap opera!

If you're a Tetris player looking for extra power-ups, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

Two of those prizes are the official App Store and Play Store gift cards, which you can win and use to get anything you want in Tetris essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
