Nintendo got the rights to Tetris by securing a licensing deal with the Soviet Union's state-run software company, Elorg, in the late 1980s. They bought the rights from Elorg, securing the game's place on the Game Boy, and the rest is history!

They basically charmed their way through the Iron Curtain! Nintendo negotiated with the Soviet Union's Elorg, outbidding Atari to snag the rights.

Back in the day, Nintendo worked a licensing deal with Elorg, the Soviet agency managing Tetris. It was a phenomenal move, especially for the Game Boy!

Nintendo just made a deal with the Soviet Union, c'mon, it's not rocket science.

If you're a Tetris player looking for extra power-ups, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

Two of those prizes are the official App Store and Play Store gift cards, which you can win and use to get anything you want in Tetris essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
