To disable your Facebook account, go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Your Facebook Information > Deactivation and Deletion, then select 'Deactivate Account'. Quick and easy!
From personal experience, I just went to Settings & Privacy, clicked on 'Settings', then 'Your Facebook Information', and hit 'Deactivate Account'. Super straightforward.
Just deactivate it under Settings. If you want to walk away, that's the fastest way.
