Pro tip from a Warframe vet: Buy some weapons directly with Platinum to save time, but also craft others with Blueprints to save cash and get that sweet sense of accomplishment.
You can snag new weapons by either buying them with Platinum in the in-game Market or grinding for the Blueprints and crafting them yourself. Both ways have their perks!
Don't overthink it: just head to the Market, find what you like, and buy it with either Platinum or Blueprints.
