Just head over to your Facebook settings, look for the section for your contact info, and you'll be able to add or change your phone number there.
I've done it a bunch of times. Go to Settings, find Mobile under Personal Information, and you can add, remove, or edit your number there.
Settings -> Mobile -> Add or Edit Number. Simple as that!
