I deactivated mine by using the portal link. You first have to log in and confirm deactivation. Your account will be fully deleted after 30 days!

Just head to the accounts portal (accounts.snapchat.com), log in, and choose 'Delete My Account'. You're out in 30 days if you don't log back in!
