I do this all the time: go to your profile, click 'Photos', find the one you hate, click on it, and delete it using the options. Boom, clean slate!
On your mobile? No worries! Tap on the photo, hit the three dots (aka the kebab menu), and select 'Delete Photo.' Quick and painless!
