Just buy one at Nook's Cranny, lol. If Timmy and Tommy have set up shop, they’ll sell shovels and other tools. Easy peasy.

Getting a shovel in Animal Crossing is kinda like a little adventure on its own! First things first, when you're just starting, you'll wanna chat with Blathers, the owl who runs the museum. He’ll give you the recipe to craft a flimsy shovel. But to upgrade that bad boy to a standard shovel, you'll need to buy the 'Pretty Good Tools Recipe' from the Nook Stop terminal inside Resident Services. Gather some iron nuggets and hardwood, then you're all set to craft a shovel that won’t break after five minutes!

Honestly, crafting is the way to go. You feel more connected to your island when you make your own tools. Plus, it's super satisfying to use a shovel you made yourself to find fossils or hit rocks!

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
