Just open Steam, go to your library, right-click PUBG, and select 'Properties.' Then, under the 'Updates' tab, make sure 'Always keep this game up to date' is checked.

I had this issue before - go to the Steam settings > Downloads, and click 'Clear Download Cache.' Your game should update after that.
