First, check if the controller has the 'Sony' logo above the start button and on the back. Originals usually feel more robust and heavier compared to fakes. If it has a good weight and feels sturdy, you're probably holding the real deal!

Look for the CE and FCC logos on the back label. Fake ones either miss these or have incorrect positioning. Also, originals usually charge via mini USB without issues!

Original controllers come with pressure-sensitive buttons and a smooth working Sixaxis motion sensor. If these features are wonky or non-existent, it's likely a fake.

Original PS3 controllers should pair with the console without needing extra drivers or software. If you face connection issues or need to install something, your controller might not be genuine.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company. The logos and other identifying marks attached are trademarks of and owned by each represented company and/or its affiliates. Please visit each company's website for additional terms and conditions.
