On Android, go to Settings > Apps > Messenger > Storage, then tap 'Clear Data'. On iOS, uninstall the app.
Just uninstall the app – it's the easiest way to log out.
Serious advice: open the Facebook app, go to Settings & Privacy, then Security & Login and remove the device from there.
