Mac user here! Go to Spotify > Preferences > Advanced Settings, and set 'Open Spotify automatically after you log into the computer' to 'No'.

Just go to your Task Manager, find Spotify in the startup tab, and disable it. Easy peasy!
Right-click on the taskbar, open Task Manager, and under the Startup tab, right-click Spotify and select 'Disable'. Simple as that!
On Windows, open Spotify, go to Edit > Preferences > Show Advanced Settings, find 'Startup and Window Behavior' and set it to 'No'.
