You gotta go to your profile settings and toggle on the 'Public' option under 'Who Can Follow Me' settings.
To put a follow button on Facebook, go to your profile settings and make sure your 'Followers' settings are enabled under 'Public Posts'. Once that's done, folks can click 'Follow' right on your profile!
