How do I send a photo on Instagram?
Just go to Direct Messages by tapping the little airplane icon, open a conversation, and either use the camera icon to take a new photo or the gallery icon to choose one from your device. Hit send and you're golden!

I do this all the time! Open the Instagram app, go to your DMs by tapping the paper airplane, pick a chat, and then hit the camera icon (or the gallery icon for an existing photo). Super straightforward!
