Honestly, just plug in an Ethernet cable if you can. WiFi is cool and all, but it’s like trying to run through a crowd. Ethernet is the VIP pass straight to fast download city.

First off, you wanna make sure your internet isn't being hogged by other stuff. Like, if your fam is streaming 4K movies in the other room, your downloads are gonna crawl. Check Steam's settings and limit the bandwidth to other apps. Also, peep your download region in Steam settings. Sometimes the closest server isn't the fastest. Pick a less busy one and see those speeds zoom!

Quick tip: Pause and restart your download. Sometimes Steam gets a bit stuck and needs a lil' nudge to get going faster. Worked for me more than once!

Change your Steam download region. The closer the server, the better... usually. But sometimes, another server a little further away might be less congested and actually faster!

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
