Honestly, just mark them as spam. Problem solved.
I had the same issue! I went to my Facebook settings, navigated to Notifications, and turned off the email notifications I didn't need. Works like a charm.
Easy peasy! Just go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Notifications > Email. From there, you can customize which emails you want to receive (or stop receiving altogether).
