To silence your chatty Roku, head to Settings > Accessibility > Audio Guide, and just turn it off. Problem solved!
Had the same issue, just went to Settings, found Accessibility, and turned off Audio Guide. Easy peasy!
Just press the * button 4 times and it'll stop.
