Figuring out the edition of MTG cards is pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it! Look for a small symbol on the card, right below the right side of the picture. This symbol's color and design will tell you what set the card is from. Also, starting from the Core Set 2015, cards have a tiny letter and number code at the bottom, like 'M15' for Core Set 2015, indicating the set directly. For older cards, the absence of such symbols might mean it's from the very early sets like Alpha, Beta, or Unlimited – for those, you'll need to look at things like the border color and the roundedness of the corners.

Honestly, it's not that big of a deal. Most cards aren't worth much unless they're super old or rare.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
