You can't turn off ads entirely, but you can hide specific ads and adjust your preferences to see less of what you don't like.
Short answer: You can't. Facebook needs to pay the bills, after all!
By going to Settings > Ad Preferences, you can at least make sure the ads you see are tailored to your interests. It helps, trust me.
