Open GeForce Experience, go to Settings, click on ‘In-Game Overlay’, and then just toggle off NVIDIA Highlights. Easy peasy!

Launch GeForce Experience, navigate to the Settings, find the 'In-Game Overlay' section, and disable NVIDIA Highlights from there. Worked like a charm for me!
