Go to Settings > Accessibility > Captions mode and set it to 'Off'. That's how you silence the subtitles!

Simply switch channels or apps and lazily ignore the subtitles. Problem solved!

You can adjust subtitle settings in each app, too! Sometimes it's in the 'Audio and Subtitles' section during playback.

Easy peasy! Just hit the * button on your remote while watching something, scroll down to 'Subtitles', and then select 'Off'.
