You gotta make sure the sub account is linked to a master account with PS Plus. The master account controls the online privileges. It's as simple as that!

Hey, been there, done that! You need a PS Plus subscription on the master account. Then, enable the 'Allow Communication with Other Players' setting on the sub account. Trust me, works like a charm!
