In Demon Slayer, demons are ranked within the Twelve Kizuki (Twelve Demon Moons), split into Upper and Lower Moons, each with six members. The Upper Moons are the strongest, while the Lower Moons are still powerful but not as fearsome. Muzan Kibutsuji, the demon progenitor, assigns these ranks.

The ranks are pretty simple: Upper Moons (1-6) are the strongest, and Lower Moons (7-12) are the weaker but still dangerous demons. Muzan controls them all.

The Twelve Kizuki, divided into Upper and Lower Moons, represent the highest-ranking demons. The Upper Moons (1 to 6) are the elite, while the Lower Moons (7 to 12) are strong but less so. Muzan Kibutsuji is the head honcho who decides the ranks.

Honestly, it doesn't matter much. Just know Upper Moons are super strong, Lower Moons are strong, and Muzan is the boss.

In the Demon Slayer universe, demons are ranked from 1 to 12, with ranks 1-6 being Upper Moons (super strong) and 7-12 being Lower Moons (pretty strong). Muzan Kibutsuji is the big boss who gives out these ranks.
