A lot of times, weak or reused passwords make it easy for hackers to crack into accounts. Use unique, complex passwords and enable two-factor authentication (2FA).
Sometimes, hackers use brute force attacks鈥攂asically, they try a bunch of password combinations until they get it right. Setting strong passwords makes this much harder for them.
I had my PSN account hacked once because I used the same password everywhere. Now I use a password manager, and no more problems!
