In Magic The Gathering, 'power' is how much damage a creature can deal in combat, while 'toughness' is how much damage a creature can take before it's destroyed. During combat, your creature's power is compared against the opponent's creature's toughness to see if it can destroy it, and vice versa. If a creature's toughness is reduced to zero or less, bye-bye creature!

Power is the offense, toughness is the defense, simple as that. A creature with higher power hits hard but needs enough toughness to survive the counterattack.

Actually, power's not just for attacking other creatures. If your creature's power is higher than the opponent's life total and it goes unblocked, you could win the game right there! Always look at the power/toughness ratio but remember, a well-timed spell can change everything in MTG.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
