You need to leave the group first. Then, review and manage your notification settings to avoid getting added or seeing posts from similar groups.
From personal experience, I suggest leaving the group and then going to your settings to adjust who can invite you to groups. This keeps unwanted groups from popping up again!
You can't block groups directly, but you can leave 'em and make sure you don't get added back! Just go to the group, click the 'Joined' button, and select 'Leave group.' Then, adjust your settings to prevent invites!
