Just use a Master Ball. If you have one, it's a guaranteed capture, and Mewtwo is definitely worth it.
Pro tip: Lower its health as much as possible and use status effects like Sleep or Paralyze to make it easier to catch. Good luck!
I've caught Mewtwo in Pokémon Red by going to Cerulean Cave after beating the game. It took a few tries, but persistence pays off!
