How do you change characters in GTA 5?
You can switch characters in GTA 5 by holding down the down button on the D-pad (if you're using a console controller) or by pressing the Alt key (if you're on PC). A character wheel pops up, and you can choose between the three protagonists – Michael, Franklin, or Trevor – by moving the right joystick (on a controller) or moving your mouse (on PC) towards the character you want to switch to.

Just tap down on the D-pad twice quickly and it’ll bring up your character selection wheel. Pick who you wanna play as and boom, you're them! It’s like magic, but with more car theft.
Actually, I prefer to stick with one character as long as I can. Keeps me more invested in the story.
