Just smash the buttons and hope for the best! Jokes aside, gently use the LS to go up and down, and RS to navigate. R2 to go up, L2 to go down. Easy once you get the hang of it.

Flying a helicopter in GTA 5 is all about practice! First off, use the left stick (LS) to take off and control the direction. Push it lightly to ascend, and once you're up high enough, use the right stick (RS) for navigation. R2 increases your altitude while L2 lowers it. And remember, it's all about gentle movements, so don't jerk the controls too much or you'll find yourself in a spectacular, unintended nosedive.
