You can unlock characters in Dragon Ball FighterZ by playing through the Story Mode and earning them as you progress. Some of them can also be purchased as DLC through your platform鈥檚 store.
Story Mode's your friend here. Complete all the arcs to unlock goodies, including some fighters.
Honestly, DLC is the fastest. Just get the passes and you'll have a full roster in no time.
Winning matches and earning the in-game currency, Zeni, lets you buy new characters from the in-game shop. Or you could just go for the DLC packs.
