First-time players automatically get assigned a race, but you can visit Norp, in the Second Sea, for a chance to reroll it!
You can also change your race later in the game using Race Reroll items or by completing specific quests. Keep exploring!
Honestly, it's all luck when you start, but you can always reroll your race using Robux if you want something different.
