Blocking is the easiest way to remove them from your followers list, but be mindful that you won't see any of their activity either.
You can also change your privacy settings to limit who can follow you. Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Public Posts and adjust the 'Who Can Follow Me' option.
Simple! Go to their profile, click on the three dots, and select 'Block' – they'll be gone from your followers list!
