Just unfollow them.
Easy peasy! Just click on the three dots on the top right of the post you want to hide, then select 'Hide post.' If you never want to see their posts again, hit 'Snooze' or 'Unfollow' from the same menu.
From personal experience, if you need a break from someone's updates, just use the 'Snooze' option. Click the three dots on one of their posts and select 'Snooze [Friend's Name] for 30 days.' You won't see their posts for a month, giving you a little breather!
