I tried this last week. On Android, long press the chat, then tap the 'Archive' icon. Works like a charm!
Just swipe left on the chat (on iPhone) and tap 'Archive'. Easy peasy!
You can archive chats! Just long-press the chat and select 'Archive'. It magically disappears into the archive folder.
