To tell if your Pokemon cards are shadowless, look to the right side of the card image. If there’s no shadow bordering the image box, congrats, you’ve got yourself a shadowless card! These are rarer and often more valuable, as they were part of the original print run of the Base Set cards. Another tip-off is the absence of the drop shadow on the bottom and to the right side of the picture box. Early collectors, you might want to double-check your stash!

The easiest hack? Check the date! If your Pokemon card says 1999 and lacks the shadow on the right side of the image, it's shadowless. Simple as that. Shadowless cards are like finding gold in the Pokemon TCG world, so if you got 'em, you're sitting on a little treasure.

Shadowless? Just flip the card and check its bottom right - if the print date is '1999' without any mention of '99-00', you might have a shadowless card. These are from the first print run and are pretty rare. Good luck hunting!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
