To open a treasure pod in Slime Rancher, you need to unlock and equip the correct Treasure Cracker upgrade from the Vacpack Upgrades shop in the Labs. Different treasure pods (green, blue, and purple) require different levels of the Treasure Cracker.

You need to upgrade your Vacpack with the Treasure Cracker! Get it at the Lab, and remember, higher level pods need higher level crackers.
I spent ages running around until I realized I needed the Treasure Cracker upgrade from the Lab! Green, blue, and purple pods each need higher cracker levels.
Just get the Treasure Cracker from the lab and you're good to go!
