The key to opening Pokemon cards is all about being gentle and patient. Start by carefully tearing the top of the pack without bending the cards. You can use your fingers to pinch the top edge and pull apart slowly. Once you have a small opening, use your fingers to widen the gap and gently slide the cards out. Some folks like to use a letter opener to slice the top open, but make sure you don’t nick the cards!

Just tear into it like it's Christmas morning, but maybe a bit gentler. Honestly, as long as you’re not using scissors near the cards, you’re probably fine.

Pro tip: Slide the pack down slightly so the cards settle away from the top. Then, carefully tear or cut the top edge of the packet, ensuring you're a safe distance from the cards. It minimizes the risk of damaging them while opening.

I've opened thousands of packs and here's my go-to: Hold the pack firmly but gently in one hand. Find the seam at the top of the pack. Use your other hand to pinch at the seam and pull apart slowly. It's like opening a bag of chips but with way more care.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
