Airplane mode is your friend! Flip it on, and bam! Your location stops updating.
You can go into the Life360 app and turn on 'Battery Saver' mode. This can slow down location updates without totally shutting them off.
Logged out of Life360 before to pause my location. Worked like a charm, but you'll miss out on notifications.
