To put stars in a relic, you need Void Traces. Earn Void Traces by running relic missions, and then you can use them to upgrade the relic's tier from Intact to Radiant, increasing your chances of getting rare drops!
You can't literally put stars in relics, but you can improve them by using Void Traces to upgrade their quality. More traces = better loot!
Only need Void Traces. Get them from fissures. Upgrade relic. Profit.
